This fun and social workshop, hosted by Art of Recycle, involves building a wind chime from assorted recycled materials and a glass wine bottle.
AoR staff will teach you how to cut a glass wine bottle using a glass cutter and hot and cold water. Using provided materials, AoR staff will guide you into creating your own unique wind chime.
This workshop includes:
Art of Recycle workshop materials are made up of items that the public donates to Art of Recycle in order to help us sustain our efforts of operating our non-profit community art center. Because of our wide variety of inventory, given items are only available in limited quantities. Each wind chime made is going to be uniquely different from the other. The wind chime that you make will not look exactly like any of the wind chimes in the photos.
If you want to use a specific type, shape, color wine bottle, then you are welcome to bring your own bottle to the workshop. We suggest you bring two or three bottles of your choice with you, because not all bottles break perfectly on the first cut. You may also bring accessories with you to add to your wine bottle and make it more personal. You do not need to bring anything with you at all, as we provide all of the necessary supplies for you.
This workshop is a level 5 workshop. It is challenging for many beginner artists. It is adult only because we are cutting glass and using sharp tools.
There is a 25 dollar fee for this workshop. A maximum of twenty spots are available. Pre-pay online or inside Art of Recycle to reserve your spot.
