WHY IS ART OF RECYCLE DOING THIS?
Teachers have limited budgets to spend on their students, many spend much of their personal income on school materials for their students. Some teachers have no budget at all, and some students have no form of paying for pencils or paper, the basic needs to earning an education. We provide these necessary materials to the teachers in our communities as far away as Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and our own state of Pennsylvania. If they can drive to us then we can give them the materials that we have available.
We do not limit our program to only art teachers. Because Art of Recycle believes that art is a fundamental need, all students benefit from art in all classrooms. Art is probably one of the most stress relieving and therapeutic ways of healing your body and mind, it also assists in the development of critical thinking skills, yet we have discovered that many people in our local communities have no way of affording the necessity of art in their lives.
We believe that art and music belong in the same category as diet and exercise, and people who are robbed of the ability to create art because of economic hardship live a life of the lowest quality.
