Art of Recycle provides a low stress environment and a variety of learning solutions that help people with high anxiety disorders.
We employ students who may not otherwise be able to be employed because their anxiety or learning disorders are not accepted within the current industry. Your donations, your social interactions, and your crafting and shopping experience are used as learning tools within our facility.
We use your discarded items to heal and grow community.
Art of Recycle accepts almost everything that you can donate. AoR is a Community Educational Art Center, not simply a thrift store. Stuff that you might normally consider junk could actually be significant art materials or teaching supplies. Our charity serves Ephrata, Lancaster, Reading, York and more.

Numerous materials used in the home, garage and garden are considered household hazardous waste (HHW). They can cause serious safety and health problems in transportation and for disposal facilities. Lancaster County residents can use LCSWMA’s HHW Facility for FREE. LCSWMA accepts paint, cleaners, motor oil, antifreeze, pesticides, herbicides, computers, TVs, cell phones, fluorescent bulbs and more.
Do not let our name fool you, we don’t just recycle, we aim to change the economic disadvantages of schools and programs in red-lined districts.
A huge thank you to the people who donated to Art of Recycle during the Extra Give in November of 2023. $1926 adds up to 55 free memberships to our teacher resource center for non-profits and teachers and it will impact all of the children and the adults that they will be assisting, for the entire year of 2024.
That adds up to one month’s worth of rent for that program’s building. Just the building that contains the free resources, not the big Art center or the store.
What will $1926 do? It will create this fantastic web of impact throughout our communities. That money doesn’t cover the payroll for the staff that maintain the teacher resource center, it won’t cover the rest of the year’s rent, it isn’t enough to cover the cost of any of the overhead associated with that program, but that small amount changes the lives of many.
Organizations, big and small; school teachers from public and private schools; local events, senior home activity directors, youth groups, libraries, and other programs that need resources in order to make their programs better, more efficient, more impactful will receive those free memberships that will give them access to free educational resources for an entire year.
Those memberships will impact every person that those organizations are assisting, and $1926 will improve the lives of up to 30,000 people or more.
Every year, Art of Recycle’s programs impacts the lives of hundreds of thousands of people and that is why we work so hard to keep this program running. Thank you so much for your support! It will make an amazing difference in our communities and we will keep this program running and improving it everyday. It is our passion.
How much will you give to help grow the impact of our programs?
Thanks to our donors, AoR was able to contribute well over $300,000 in resources to non-profit programs and teachers who are teaching children, adults with special needs and seniors in nursing homes. 2020’s 990 tax form.
